Aligned to national standards
CDX ARK+ is the first automotive software that can be completely restructured at the touch of a button. For instance, if you want the menu for the entire program to reflect the ASE Task Area 1-8 structure, all you need to do is choose 'ASE' on the Menu Chooser list, if you are in the USA, or 'IMI' if you are in the UK, and so on.

CDX Plus Online is not 'just another website'. It can only be accessed with the secure CDX Plus Online 'launcher' application program, not a regular browser, so there is no danger of students using CDX Plus Online to access other web or Internet content. What courseware is available through CDX Plus Online?
The first two products released for delivery across the web are CDX Automotive Resource Kit Plus (CDX ARK+) and CDX General Service Plus (CDX GS+).
CDX Automotive Resource Kit Plus Online contains a huge collection of automotive teaching and learning resources. It also contains everything that is also in CDX General Service+, so it is not necessary to get both programs if you are running entry level and advanced courses.
CDX General Service Plus Online contains everything you need for an entry-level automotive program.

Are these products still available for hard drive or network installation as well?
Yes. Both CDX ARK+ and CDX GS+ are still available as PC/Network products, and both versions are included whenever you purchase either CDX Plus program. CDX Plus Online will be very useful for many teaching organizations and ideal for many learners, but it is not the only learning mode possible.

What do you mean, 'CDX Plus Online is a secure service'?
CDX Plus Online can only be accessed with a special 'launcher' program, that can be quickly downloaded from various websites, or emailed to users by teachers or supervisors.
It does NOT need to be installed on local PCs, it just needs to be run – it can be copied to a local drive and run from there, or run from a CD or even from a jump drive.
The purpose of this launcher program is to check the user's ID and password, and then connect them into the correct CDX program. Nobody can access your organization's exclusive CDX Plus Online site without the launcher program and a valid user ID and password, and the launcher program cannot take you anywhere else on the web.
Although CDX Plus Online is a web-based service, it cannot be accessed with a normal browser, and the CDX Plus launcher program cannot be used to access any other websites as if it was a normal browser.

What hardware/software do I need to be able to connect to CDX Plus Online?
You will need:
- A Windows PC (or an Intel Mac with VMWare Fusion or Parallels)
- Intel Pentium 4 (or equivalent) - or better
- 512 MB memory
- 128 MB video card or better
- 1024 x 768 resolution or higher
- Windows XP – or later
- Windows Media Player 9.0 or later (built-in to XP)
- Internet Explorer 6.5 – or later
(Windows needs this to be installed to let the CDX Plus Online program connect to our servers. The students do not load and run Internet Explorer, nor do they have direct access to any of that program's features)
- Flash 7 – or later
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 – or later
- A valid User ID and password – of course
